The James Hutton Institute ("Hutton") is the Data Controller over any personal data we process about you for the purposes set out in this Privacy Notice. Hutton is committed to protecting your personal data and adheres to the principles of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) when processing your personal data. Special Category of Data: means personal data revealing racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, or trade union membership, and the processing of genetic data, biometric data for the purpose of uniquely identifying a natural person, data concerning health or data concerning a natural person’s sex life or sexual orientation.
When we use the term 'personal data' we mean both personal data and special category of data.
Hutton is processing the following types of personal data about you.
You will have been asked to provide this information to register for an account or use some of Germinate's features.
Your data is held on secure servers by Hutton on site.
Hutton is processing your personal data in order to maintain your user account and personalized features of Germinate. Our legal basis for this processing is to allow you to use personalized features of the Germinate infrastructure and to provide us with an indication on who is using data we provide.
Hutton shall only share your personal data with the Crop Trust who provided funds to carry out this work and the underlying experimental data.
An exception to this would be where we are required to share your personal data in accordance with law or any regulatory requirement to which Hutton is subject or where we are undergoing a corporate restructure.
Your data will not be shared outside of the EEA.
Hutton works hard to protect your personal data and have adopted appropriate technical and organisational measures to keep it safe from unauthorised disclosure, alteration or destruction.
Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we will do our best to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal data transmitted to Hutton via the internet; any transmission is at your own risk. We use https for all connections to Germinate.
Hutton will keep your personal data for the duration of your continued active use of Germinate or until you request that your account be terminated.
We do no profiling based on your personal data.
